Shreya Kaipa is a South Asian artist, designer, and educator. Her practice embeds the process of listening deeply to communities, questioning systems, and playing with forms inspired by landscapes and bodies. Her approach centers experiences of fear in the built environment, and conversely, explores themes of freedom through painting and rituals of liberation and care.
Shreya has earned a BFA and BArch at the Rhode Island School of Design with a Nature, Culture, and Sustainability Concentration. She has practiced at nC2 Architecture LLC (NYC, NY), Sameep Padora & Associates (Mumbai, India), taught at DownCity Design (Providence, RI), and been awarded a Maharam Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited at the RISD Museum Gelman Gallery (Providence, RI), and has been featured in Uprise RI, Frontiers in Sustainable Cities, The Public’s Radio: Mosaic, Visions Magazine, Providence Streets Coalition, and Rhode Island School of Design’s media platforms. She is currently an organizer with the Design as Protest Collective, Dark Matter University, and a landscape designer at Jeff Keiter Landscape Architect.
